What services do you offer?​

We offer a 3-tier service model:

  • Tier 1: Insurance-based therapy for individuals and families
  • Tier 2: Specialist trauma recovery and emotional clarity sessions (private pay)
  • Tier 3: Premium experiences like 1:1 intensives, group healing circles, and retreats
  • We also offer a select menu of holistic à la carte services such as Reiki, sound healing, and spiritual guidance for private-pay clients seeking deeper energetic or spiritual support.

Do you accept insurance?​

Yes. We currently accept most major insurance plans, including: Anthem, BCBS, United/Optum/GEHA, Sentara, and self/private pay.
Our Tier 1 services are covered by insurance, while Tier 2 and 3 are private-pay.

What’s the difference between Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 services?​

We offer a 3-tier service model:

  • Tier 1 helps clients stabilize, build emotional regulation skills, and address common mental health concerns.
  • Tier 2 is for clients ready to dive deeper into trauma recovery, burnout, identity work, and emotional clarity.
  • Tier 3: includes immersive healing experiences like trauma intensives and retreats for deep transformation.

How do I know which service tier is right for me?

If you’re unsure, start with a consultation. We’ll guide you based on your goals, history, and readiness. Many clients begin with Tier 1 and transition into Tier 2 or 3 as they deepen their healing journey.

What’s included in a trauma intensive?

Our Sankofa Trauma Integration Intensives are customized, half-day to multi-day private sessions that blend Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, and holistic healing practices. They’re designed to help you release long-held trauma, gain clarity, and feel emotionally lighter — faster than weekly sessions alone. Click here to learn more.

Do you work with teens or children?

At this time, our practice primarily focuses on adults and families. Some services for children or teens may be available depending on provider availability. We’ll offer referrals when needed.

What is your approach to therapy and healing?

We integrate trauma-informed therapy with Afrocentric and holistic practices. This includes somatic-based approaches (like Brainspotting and SE), narrative work, ancestral healing, and culturally grounded care that honors your full identity — mind, body, and spirit.

What do I bring to a session?​

Unless the clinician tells you otherwise, all you need to bring is yourself. If you’d like to come early please know we have a waiting room. You can use that time to gather your thoughts, use the facilities, or read a magazine.

Do you offer tele-health services?

Yes, if you reside in the state of Virginia we can meet using a secure software. Also note that everyone may not be a candidate and/or some insurances may not cover tele-health services

Do you offer other services?

Thriving Well offers wellness workshops to companies that have teams under a lot of pressure to perform. Thriving Well also provides speaking engagements on topics such as self-esteem, mental health, burnout, trauma, and holistic health.

What are your hours of operation?

Our admin support team is here Monday-Friday: 9am -4 pm
Our therapists see clients Monday – Friday 9am – 9 pm; Saturdays 9am -2pm
Intensive clients get the option for a weekend timeslot as well.
